Nanoparticle-Assembled Solids: Structure, Dynamics and Magneto-electric Properties

 

Research:

In our Lab bottom-up fabrication of artificial solids is developed by drying-mediated self-assembly of colloidal nanocrystals into ordered arrangements. I exploit the balance between the level and type of chemical substitution in optimally crystallised core@shell NP-assembled solids which aims to enhance relevant properties (e.g. magnetostriction, exchange-bias). In perspective, this may benefit electric-field driven transformations (e.g. superparamagnetic to ferromagnetic states), promising for the development of versatile magnetoelectric devices operating at room-temperature.
